1969 - 1982

Artist

What do you miss most about SoHo in the 1970s?

Studio space, strong community feeling, friends near by, galleries, Dave's Corner, walk to chinatown, late night the streets were empty... you can breathe night space, trucking company next door would watch out for you and receive packages, wonder neighbors...some who became lifelong friends...the vibe of an important historical period that can never be replaced or repeated

What do you miss least about SoHo in the 1970s?

Burglar Alarms in the middle of the night and the stress of evictions in the early 80's

If you no longer live in SoHo, why did you leave?

The main reason for leaving was real-estate developer harassment starting 1n 1981.

What is your most vivid SoHo memory?

Painting late into the night with music blasting.

Is there anything else you would like to add to your profile?

Just that now my studio is near Coney Island Brooklyn.
