When did you live in SoHo?

Where did you live in SoHo?

170 Mercer, 476 Broome, 240 Lafayette

What was your occupation when you lived in SoHo?

dancer, teacher (waitressed at Fanelli's a few months in 1974)

What do you miss most about SoHo in the 1970s?

The sense of community, that you'd know practically everyone on the street after 5PM. The lack of commerce and therefore the lack of temptation. The sense that we were in something together.

What do you miss least about SoHo in the 1970s?

The danger (I was almost raped once). Sleeping in my coat (no heat).

If you no longer live in SoHo, why did you leave?

Landlords. And I couldn't afford to buy.

What is your most vivid SoHo memory?

People skiing down Spring street in 1977. Larry Bennett tending bar at Fanelli's.

Is there anything else you would like to add to your profile?

We were very lucky to live in such a special place and time. I still miss it today and would be happy to hear more about your project and where we have all landed.
