After a long and meticulous renovation and restoration, Fireman’s Hall, at 155 Mercer Street, opened as Dolce & Gabbana, the high-end Italian fashion brand, on April 11. The façade of the building has been carefully reconstructed to (almost) what it looked like when it was built in 1855, bringing us back to a time before New York City had a unified fire department.
