Happy birthday to us!  January 1 will mark the second anniversary of The SoHo Memory Project.  I thought I’d take this opportunity to look toward year three by looking back to see how far we’ve come.

It is a twist on the whole "boomerang generation" phenomenon of adult children moving in with their parents because they cannot afford to live on their own, SoHo "children" return home and carve out a space for themselves inside their childhood lofts.

When people I meet learn that I grew up in a SoHo loft, they always say that it must have been so fun and glamorous.  I guess it was fun riding my bike or swinging on the porch swing in our "living room," but it was also really UNCOMFORTABLE and not really glamorous at all.  But it was also all I knew.
