Recently, the New York City Department of Parks sent six men and three trucks with two chain saws to cut down George Maciunas’s trees. The founder of the Fluxus Art movement, the founding father of SoHo, and the man whose office was in the basement of 80 Wooster Street, Maciunas would never have let it happen.
