1976 till present
Where did you live in SoHo?
from 1976-1978 at 460 Broome St
From 1978-present, 96 Grand Street.
What was your occupation when you lived in SoHo?
artists.
What do you miss most about SoHo in the 1970s?
that it was a new vibrant place filled with artists. Also , that you knew most people, the energy of starting out/renovating, friendship. It was a risk to move here, rent... and that you could park for free on the street!
What do you miss least about SoHo in the 1970s?
that their were no services... food stores etc... and of course the crime of NY in the 70's
What is your most vivid SoHo memory?
The beauty of the buildings, the dreams of what we /it could be. A sense of energy yet calm.
Is there anything else you would like to add to your profile?
there are so many stories, of starting out, living near famous artists (Christo etc..), of local hangouts, about it being all about art.
