What was your occupation when you lived in SoHo?
I had a factory making leather clothing at 500 Broadway.I was paying $500 /month for 5000sf.My landlord was the notorious Herbert Moskowitz
What do you miss most about SoHo in the 1970s?
I miss the gritty funkiness of the early days. There was only Fanellis and the Broome St. bar.I ate lunch at Food every day
What do you miss least about SoHo in the 1970s?
The boiler in the loft would always break down on the coldest day of the year.
What is your most vivid SoHo memory?
I had an armed robbery when closing my business.The guy put a silver pistol in my ear and tied up myself and my wife on the floor.This is hard to forget.
If you no longer live in SoHo, why did you leave?
I closed my business in 1990. It was the beginning of the end for Soho.

I miss the early gallery parties and the waitresses in the Broome St. bar
