I went to school at St Alphonsus
If you’re a SoHo old-timer, what do you miss most about SoHo in the early days?
The area was kept clean. We did not have to worry snout wring shot or knifed in the street. The children walked to street by themselves.
What do you miss least about SoHo in the early days?
Everyone knew your business
If you used to live in SoHo but no longer live here, why did you leave?
I got married and left. Did not like apartment living.
What is your most vivid SoHo memory?
Going to school and St Alphonsus Church. The nuns were horrible and we were beaten up constantly. They would be arrested today along with the parents that allowed this to happen I was scared to go to school.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Perhaps the church was demolished because of so many bad things that happened to us. It was truly sad.
